Of necessity, organizations switched large portions of their workforce to remote work as the pandemic lockdowns took effect. Soon after, many formerly skeptical executives discovered what the research on remote work has repeatedly demonstrated – far from undermining productivity, remote work often increases it.
What can we expect as the crisis recedes? What are the opportunities and risks of remote work for people and organizations? What can research tell us about how leadership, collaboration, evaluation and reward systems, and other key organizational practices should change to adapt to the new world of work, and what these changes mean for career development, innovation, and teamwork?
