O estudo de caracterização do mercado americano de vinhos e as conclusões decorrentes serão apresentados num seminário, na AESE, num evento que reúne empresas portuguesas com experiência na exportação para os EUA e de especialistas americanos, entre outros.

Susan Wojcicki, CEO de Youtube, construiu a sua carreira profissional assumindo riscos. Juntou-se à Google quando era apenas uma start-up que funcionava na sua garagem e, mais tarde, convenceu o gigante tecnológico a adquirir o Youtube. Em setembro de 2014, a Facebook anunciou uma mudança estratégica orientada para os vídeos online. Wojcicki tinha sido nomeada CEO de Youtube seis meses antes, com o objetivo de rentabilizar esta plataforma. Na altura o Youtube tinha 5.600 Milhões de USD de receita, mas ainda apresentava prejuízos.
Durante a sessão, avaliar-se-á se as regras tradicionais da estratégia se aplicam na envolvente empresarial atual, repleta complexidade e de mudanças.
Os participantes terão a oportunidade de refletir com tempo sobre o caso, discuti-lo num grupo de trabalho restrito e, posteriormente, em plenário, com o professor convidado.

No evento, uma parceria EXAME com o ManpowerGroup e com o apoio da AESE Business School e da JLL, serão também entregues os prémios às Melhores Empresas Para Trabalhar 2021.
Como habitualmente, vamos discutir as tendências mais importantes na organização do trabalho, com particular foco no que fica para o futuro, na forma de trabalhar e na forma de liderar, depois de quase dois anos extraordinariamente atípicos, devido à pandemia.

O caso “Tate Museum” é centrado na figura de John Stack, o visionário Diretor de Transformação Digital. A Tate – o conjunto de quatro grandes galerias de arte do Reino Unido – inclui a Tate Modern, a galeria mais visitada do mundo, dedicada à arte moderna e contemporânea.
Stack foi o arquiteto da “quinta galeria” da Tate, a Tate online. Para lá chegar foi preciso passar por dois processos de planeamento de estratégia digital. O sucesso do trabalho da equipa ficou patente no desenvolvimento da quinta galeria da Tate virtual, repleto de conteúdo, atividades, experiências e ligação com a comunidade.
Preparando o futuro, Stack trabalhou na criação de uma nova estratégia digital, que incluía o digital como uma dimensão de tudo o que a Tate fazia, tanto física quanto virtualmente. O que levantou questões importantes sobre a estrutura organizacional, estratégia de marketing, design de produtos e serviços e ROI. No verão de 2020, Stephane Bancel, CEO da empresa de biotecnologia Moderna, enfrenta vários desafios à medida que a sua empresa corre contra o tempo para desenvolver uma vacina para a COVID-19.
O caso em discussão explora a forma como uma empresa constrói uma organização digital, e aproveita a inteligência artificial e outros recursos digitais para acelerar as suas operações, gerir os seus processos e garantir a qualidade através da investigação, teste e fabrico. Construída do zero como uma organização digital, a Moderna foi capaz de responder ao desafio de desenvolver uma vacina, assim que a sequência genética do vírus foi publicada na Web, a 11 de janeiro de 2020.
À medida que a vacina entra nos ensaios clínicos da fase III, Bancel considera várias questões: Como devem equilibrar as exigências de desenvolver uma vacina para um vírus global a par de outras vacinas e terapias também relevantes e já em produção pela Moderna? Como é que a Moderna deve comunicar os seus objetivos e visão aos investidores neste tempo sem precedentes? Deve a Moderna preocupar-se por estar a ser considerada “uma empresa COVID-19”?
