Visiting professor
Mike Rosenberg is a Professor of the Practice of Management in the Strategic Management Department of IESE Business School. He began teaching part time in the MBA and Global Executive programs in 1999 and joined the faculty on a full time basis in 2003.
Professor Rosenberg lectures in IESE’s MBA and Executive Education programs, where he teaches strategy, geopolitics and sustainability and publishes an occasional blog on these topics under the title Doing Business on the Earth.
His first book, Strategy and Sustainability, was published in 2018 and explores the link between business and the environment from a business perspective. His second book, Strategy and Geopolitics, was published in 2018 in order to encourage business leaders to pay more attention to issues of war and peace. Each books offers its own frameworks for looking at these two issues. His latest book, Learning to Fly, came out last year and is about how one might think about career management given the complexity of today’s world.
From 2004-2009, he managed IESE’s International Executive Education Unit. He was also the Academic Director for the Advanced Management Program in Media Entertainment and has co-edited Managing Media Businesses, which is based on the course. Rosenberg is also the co-Academic Director for IESE’s ESG course as well as a for a number of Custom Programs for corporate clients of the school.
Prior to joining IESE Business School, he was the Automotive Practice Leader of Heidrick & Struggles and, prior to that, he spent 15 years as a Management consultant in Europe, North America and Asia for A.T. Kearney and for Arthur D. Little, primarily in the automotive sector.
Professor Rosenberg holds a PhD from Cranfield University, an MBA from IESE Business School, and a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
